The Perfect Jig Underspin

I was at the Toronto Sportsman Show and managed to get my hands on The Perfect Jig‘s newest jig. The Perfect Jig Underspin! I spent the next day on the Niagara River and decided to take them for a spin! And am I ever glad I did!!

It took me a little while to figure out which rod would work best for trout. After losing a rainbow trout and a lake trout I picked up a 7’6″ Cranking Stick. I paired it with a Daiwa Tatula Type-R. As a result, I started landing every fish that hit! The first two rods where too stiff and consequently I was losing fish at the boat. I was thinking too much about what rod I would use for bass with the underspin. I should have been thinking about what rod suited trout.

A lot was taken into consideration with the design of The Perfect Jig Underspin. Firstly the hook is oversized and super sharp sticking even fish that swam forward with the bait was not a problem! Secondly, the keeper is stellar. I never had a swimbait move down the shank of the hook, even with a fish on! The silver head is perfect for imitating just about any baitfish species. Moreover, it has a big “easy target” eyes that even after multiple fish and some bottom banging are still on there. The bottom post extends down far enough that the blade can spin without interruption even under large bellied swimbaits.

I honestly believe The Perfect Jig Underspin will be a big-time fish catcher! Wait, why am I telling you this, maybe I should keep this a secret for a bit…
